*Note: In fourth grade, you are expected to be able to convert fractions to decimals.
*If you want to challenge yourself, you may also convert fractions and decimals into percents.
Changing Fractions to Decimals (and Percents):
27/100 = 0.27 = 27% |
*Percent only means per 100 so a fraction that has a denominator of 100 means the numerator is the amount of percent.

How a Calculator Converts Fractions to Decimals:
On a Calculator:
*Remember that the line in the fraction means division. So, 3/5 means 3 divided by 5. On a calculator, press the number 3 (numerator), then the divided sign, then the number five (denominator), then the equal sign. The calculator will show you the decimal form of the fraction.
Answer: 0.6
